Goldfield Suites is a boutique accommodation property situated on the edge of Greymouth, the largest town on the West Coast and well situated for viewing much of the coast through day trips.
Goldfield Suites is set in a very tranquil bush setting on remediated historic gold diggings and features lots of native birdlife (including flightless birds that can be handfed). Four units are one-bedroom cottages built in blocks of two. They are very quiet and private. Each cottage has a private deck and bistro setting. Our studio is access friendly, with a roll in shower.
Facilities
Each cottage is fully self-contained and includes very good Wi-Fi internet access, Android TV (bring your Netflix, Neon, Disney passwords with you), Nespresso machine, and large walk-in showers with great water pressure. Guests also enjoy use of our wood-fired hot tub set in a bush clearing (at a small charge).
A continental breakfast is included in the rate.
We also serve dinners (a main course and a dessert) in the summer months in our outdoor dining area. These dinners are cooked on our offset smoker bbq and include favourites such as smoked beef fillet, smoked salmon, slow bbq leg of lamb, etc served with fresh organic vegetables from our grow tunnel. The outdoor dining has become a social favourite with guests, with social drinks following the dinners. Note: as the meals are weather dependent, it is best if guests contact us 24 hours prior to order.
Gold panning tuition is available for those guests interested in the gold mining history, and guests are welcome to borrow our gold pans to try some gold fossicking.
Maximum capacity is 5 units/10 people, so guests are assured of a quiet stay and personal attention.
